As part of the meetings held by the Minister for the Sea in preparation for the debate on the general state budget for 2024, he received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cabnave, the Board of Directors of Enapor and a representative of the company Frescomar.
During the meeting with Cabnave’s CEO, the company’s main projects were discussed, with emphasis on the rehabilitation of the shipyards, whose funding approval was confirmed by the European Union during the Global Gateaway meeting in Brussels.
The Global Gateaway funding also includes investments in Porto Grande, Porto Novo, Porto Inglês and Porto da Palmeira. During the meeting with Enapor and Frescomar, the mechanisms and strategies for improving Cape Verde’s fishing logistics were discussed.
Global Gatway finances priority and impactful projects in energy transition, connectivity, digital transformation and the blue economy to increase resilience and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The various Cape Verdean projects are expected to be funded between November 2023 and March 2024, totalling 246 million euros.
